Curro Thatchfield is seeking an experienced Cook to manage food preparation and cafeteria/tuck-shop operations. The role involves planning nutritious menus, preparing food budgets, managing procurement, overseeing distribution of meals, catering for special events, and supervising kitchen staff. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety regulations while supporting the school’s broader mission.

Responsibilities

  • Plan menus in collaboration with management
  • Design recipes and calculate ingredient quantities to reduce wastage
  • Ensure nutritional requirements are met according to health and safety standards
  • Prepare food budgets and submit for approval
  • Source suppliers and procure goods based on quality and cost

Qualifications

  • Matric / Grade 12 certificate
  • Formal cooking qualification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Minimum 2 years’ cooking experience
  • Experience in kitchen and cafeteria/tuck-shop management
